# How to play GoBattle.io

GoBattle.io is a multiplayer pixel-art action RPG. You start as a knight in the kingdom of Valdoran, fight monsters and other players, collect coins and diamonds, and grow your hero with stats, items and professions. Press **Battle** on the main menu to jump into a game, or pick a mode under **Select Game Mode**.

## Keyboard controls

## The six stats

Open **Skills & Inventory** from the main menu to spend points. Each stat changes how your hero fights:

- **Attack (ATT)**: each point adds 5% more attack power with your primary and secondary weapon.
- **Defense (DEF)**: each point reduces the damage you take, most of all while you are covered by your shield.
- **Luck (LCK)**: each point adds 5% chance of a critical hit (2x) with your secondary (short) weapon, and more diamonds from monsters and chests.
- **Max Health (MHP)**: each point adds 25 points of maximum health.
- **Regeneration (RGN)**: each point speeds up health regeneration, from 1 HP/s up to 8 HP/s with 20 points, and adds 1 second of breath underwater.
- **Speed (SPD)**: each point makes you run 5% faster.

## Your first steps

- **Explore Valdoran.** Adventure Mode is the open world: dungeons, bosses and quests. Your quests show in the **Quests** tab of the chat box.
- **Pick a profession.** Talk with Taladriel in Valdoran castle to become an Adventurer, or with Maya to become a Relic Hunter. You need to be level 20. See the [professions guide](https://gobattle.io/professions/).
- **Collect coins and diamonds.** Monsters and chests drop them. Diamonds buy items in the store: hats, armor, shields, weapons, wings, pendants and emotes.
- **Fight other players.** Try King Mode, Battle Royale and Damageball, then climb the [Ranked PvP](https://gobattle.io/ranked-pvp/) leaderboard. All modes are in the [game modes guide](https://gobattle.io/game-modes/).
- **Play with friends.** Add them by user id in the friends window and invite them to a private match.

## Speedruns

Type `/speedrun` in the chat before you enter a dungeon and your time is recorded on the monthly and all-time leaderboards. Practise the dungeon layout first and bring gear and skills for speed. The fastest player of each month wins 20 diamonds.
